About Us
Why Analog Photography
You might ask why we would be using such a primitive medium for creating art. The analog process teaches many principles in the STEAM program. This can be from measuring out specific amounts of chemistry, to understanding how light works, to the mechanical aspects of how a photo is taken. Is analog photography outdated? NO! By teaching principles such as patience, critical-thinking, and the joys of delayed gratification, this is the perfect medium to use.
We will be teaching all aspects of the analog medium starting with loading and shooting film, to developing and processing the film, to finally printing and showcasing the students work. Through this process, students gain a deeper appreciation for both the science and artistry of photography. Unlike digital, film encourages mindfulness, precision, and problem-solving. By creating tangible prints from start to finish, students build confidence, patience, and a true sense of accomplishment.
Making a Difference
By donating your time, you’re helping to provide a unique, hands-on learning experience that many students might not have access to otherwise. You’re not just teaching photography—you’re inspiring confidence, curiosity, and resilience. Your guidance can spark a lifelong appreciation for creativity and self-expression, shaping the way students see both art and themselves.
Volunteer Now
Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or simply passionate about working with young minds, your skills and enthusiasm can make a lasting impact. We welcome anyone who wants to share their knowledge, inspire creativity, and help students discover the magic of analog photography. By mentoring, guiding, and encouraging them through the process, you’ll not only spark a lifelong passion for photography but also foster confidence, curiosity, and artistic expression in the next generation.
